DisFact
This newsletter began as a weekly dispatch exploring issues that dominated the news. Now, I use it to share links to my published work in a monthly email.
About me
I am Samarth Bansal, an independent journalist and computer programmer based in New Delhi. I write about politics, policy and the intersection of technology and society. You can see my selected work here.
I previously worked with the data journalism teams of the Hindustan Times and The Hindu. In 2018, I was awarded the Alfred Friendly Press Partners Fellowship: as part of the program, I spent five months reporting for the investigative team of the Wall Street Journal in New York City.
My freelance work has appeared in The Atlantic, HuffPost India, Livemint and Quartz.
