“You are entitled to your opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.” — Daniel Patrick Moynihan
DisFact is a weekly India newsletter, delivered every Sunday, straight into your inbox. The newsletter will explore issues that dominate the news in depth, draw interconnections between various stories, understand the arguments from all sides, in an attempt to make sense of India.
I am Samarth Bansal, a reporter at the Hindustan Times in New Delhi. I write this newsletter in my personal capacity, for fun and my desire to engage with people who are curious and want to learn about India.
Previously, I reported for the data and investigations team of the Wall Street Journal in New York as an Alfred Friendly Fellow I started my career reporting for The Hindu in New Delhi.
I love to tell stories, write code, wrangle data and explore big ideas. I graduated with a BS in Mathematics and Scientific Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2015.
Say hi! I’d love to hear from you (firstname.lastname@example.org)
